As the New Year dawns upon us, it's the perfect time to reflect on the past and set our sights on the future. Annual goal setting is a powerful tool that allows us to channel our ambitions and aspirations into tangible, achievable objectives.
I was not excited to start 2022. I ended the year in quite a funk and while everyone was busy posting about their accomplishments and high points, I was sitting in what felt like my lowest. I couldn’t remember a single thing that happened in 2021 that felt “good.”
This past weekend I had the opportunity to photograph an event hosted by Bumble Bizz at Kendra Scott at Easton. The event was called "Trailblazers - Women in Business," and featured four kick-ass boss babe speakers. It was such an honor to not only photograph these women, but also to hear their stories about overcoming hardships and their definition of success.
So one of my New Year's goals was to read books. Before this year, I cannot tell you the last time I read a book. I would bet money that is has been at least ten years, and even before that I probably used "Spark Note" or just skimmed the book for a class and called it reading.
My best friend and I took a trip to Charleston, South Carolina for spring break. Not only was it a much needed getaway, but I had a few revelations about myself while I was there. I also had the chance to capture some photos in the dreamy southern light amongst the weeping willow trees.
I did a thing... Since January, I've been living on my own in a cute one-bedroom apartment. Don't get me wrong, having my own space is awesome. However coming home to an empty apartment... every... single... night gets really old, really fast.
